#10 Al Rosen

#10 Al Rosen
Progress: 1st of this card

How acquired: $7.00 on ebay
Condition: Fair

The obvious, and really only, serious flaws with this card are the two top corners which appear to have been torn off somewhere along the way.  I was a little worried about the aesthetics of this card because of that, but once I slid it into it's place in the 8-pocket page in my '52 binder, you don't really notice it at all.  Rosen is a name I knew, but really had no idea just how good he was before looking him up.  His career was only seven full seasons (with cups of coffee in three others), but he had a monster run over those seven seasons.  In 1953 he led the AL with 145 RBI,  and 43 HR, while just missing out on the Triple Crown, batting .336 and finishing 2nd to Mickey Vernon's .337 average. He took home the AL MVP award as a consolation prize.

Stats: 10 seasons, 4x All-Star, 1953 AL MVP, 1,063 hits, 192 homer runs, .285 Avg., World Series Ring in '48 with Cleveland.

Best Hall of Fame Showing: N/A
