This card is littered with what I would describe as teeth marks. They clearly weren't made by teeth, but something made a lot of impressions on this card without puncturing all the way through. George appeared in one game in 1952, and that would be the end of his MLB career. He got off to a fantastic start with the Yankees putting up monster seasons in 1944 and '45, ultimately playing for 7 seasons with the Yankees, winning 3 World Series and twice finishing in the top 5 of MVP voting. As the card back mentions, Stirnweiss was an All-American running back at UNC, and was drafted by the NFL Cardinals but opted for baseball.
Stats: 10 seasons, 2x All-Star, 1945 AL Batting Champ, 989 hits
Best Hall of Fame Showing: N/A
Stirnweiss loses the smiling competition with Chief Wahoo.
