This card has a rather serious crease running across the top of it that is hard to ignore. However, for a low series Yankee World Series hero, who was also a 5x All-Star and twice finished in the top 3 of AL MVP voting, I consider this card to be a steal. It's not the most exciting looking card in the set, but the "Yankee Tax" is very real when chasing vintage Topps cards, especially from the 1950's. Other than the crease, the card is in completely acceptable shape. Yet since I've discovered my preference for red backs, I can't help but think this is a card that would especially benefit aesthetically from a red back rather than black. I need to stop creating problems for myself.
Stats: 13 seasons, 5x All-Star, 1952 AL ERA Leader (2.06, went 20-8), 182-107 career record, threw 2 No-Hitters in 1951, 6 World Series Rings, 7-2 record with a 2.79 ERA in 9 career WS stars, 5 CG and 2 SHO in WS, 8 hits and .308 avg in WS.

Certainly a great deal. I agree on the red back preference.
