Condition: Good

This card is very well worn, but in a very genuine way.  I love cards like that.  They just seem more authentic, more like a museum artifact. For all intents and purposes it's still completely intact but still looks the part of a 60 year old card.  

Rickert is one of the all-time great examples of good timing.  After spending his entire '48 season with the Boston Braves in the minors, the Braves starting left field Jeff Heath broke his ankle sliding into home.  The Braves were allowed to make Rickert an emergency call-up, and he started the last 3 games of the year, and played in 5 games in the World Series collecting 4 hits in the Braves loss to Cleveland.
