These "Fightin' Phillies" cards tend to be some of the nicer looking ones in this set.  The red just works well.  At first glance I thought this was just a colored in background, but it's actually bleachers with three distinct people lurking in the seats.

Tommy Brown once held the distinction of being the youngest player to ever hit a home run in the majors, when he did so on August 20, 1945 at the age of seventeen (and he actually made his debut during the '44 season).  He didn't set too many other statistical marks of note, but anytime you go in the baseball record books for something positive, you deserve all the accolades that come your way for it.  Even from baseball card blogs seven decades after the fact.

Stats: 9 seasons, 309 hits, 31 home runs, .241 avg.

Best Hall of Fame Showing: N/A

  1. You got a good price on that card. I was just looking at them on eBay since I see he's still alive and signs through the mail and there aren't any available for anywhere near that cheap.

    1. @Jamie Meyers I never even considered that as a factor for why some of these cards cost more but it makes a ton of sense.
