This Bob Friend card looks better in the scan than it does in hand. It still has nice coloring, which tends to hide many of it's flaws. A major crease is also convienently concealed by it's placement running edge to edge along the top row of stars above his name on the front.
Bob Friend wasn't a name I was familiar with, but he racked up a lot of numbers over the course of 16 MLB seasons, earning over 400 decisions and throwing over 3,600 innings.
Stats: 16 seasons, 3x All-Star, 197 wins, 230 loses, Led NL with 22 wins in '58, Led NL in Games Started in '56 (42), '57 (38), and '58 (38)

Bob Friend never seemed to change a bit through his career as chronicled thru his cards. Always looked the same. His son played on the PGA tour and was (is?) a golf commentator.
