Hartsfield had pretty decent numbers at the plate in his first two pro-seasons in '50 and '51. Then he only appeared in 38 games in '52 and never saw the the bigs again as a player. Leading the league in errors at second base in '50, despite only playing in 96 games probably didn't help his cause.
Hartsfield wasn't done with baseball though, having a long career as a manager in the minors before being named the first ever manager for the Toronto Blue Jays. He lasted three season's at the helm for the expansion Jays. I don't want to pile on, but it sounds like it didn't go very well.
Stats: 3 seasons, 266 hits, 13 home runs, .273 avg.
