"Witto" is likely a nickname whose origins are best left unknown. Aloma's wikipedia page doesn't go into it, and I'm not going to look into it anymore than that. Aloma didn't see a ton of action over the course of his four major league seasons, but was pretty effective in his limited action, putting together an impressive 18-3 record as a pitcher despite only having one career start.
