Condition: Fair
This card has no shortage of flaws. That doesn't make it any less awesome though. This is one I've seen pop from time to time on ebay for years, but it always sold for more than I had arbirtraly deemed then it should. But I finally have a copy, albeit, a very well worn copy. Widmar didn't have much of a career as a player, but he managaged for a decade in the minors before being named pitching coach of the Toronto Blue Jays, and ultimately landed in Toronto's front office.

Widmar was the Phillies' pitching coach from 1962-64, and again from 68-69. In-between, he was their minor-league pitching coach. Most of the coaches were replaced for 1970 when new manager Frank Lucchesi came in.
