At one time this was probably a very nice looking baseball card. It still is, even with the heavy creasing. The Fightin' Phillies have some very nice looking cards in this set.
Howie Fox played nine major league seasons, with his last coming in 1954. He played in the Texas League in 1955, and was stabbed to death that same year after ejecting three men from a bar he owned. He was only 34. The individual charged with the murder was only 21.
